Husband. Father. Veteran. Photographer. My name is Tristan and I'm the founder of Hangar 53 Studios.

What really kicked off my photography journey was my mom. Going all the way back to when I was a kid, she was always taking photos. Film, digital, disposable camera, didn't matter. I was interested in it, but never really saw it as anything more than something fun to do.

After high school I joined the Marine Corps, and ended up stationed in San Diego. In the Marines I went all over the American Southwest and parts of Asia. The single largest regret I have from my time serving is the lack of photos I took.

Fast forward to 2022. I'm married, just moved into a townhouse in north San Diego county, and my daughter was JUST BORN! We had a Canon EOS T6 laying around and I got more into photography than I ever was before. I dove down all the rabbit holes on YouTube and Instagram. I wanted to make my pictures better. I wasn't going to make the mistake of not capturing memories again.

I started thinking about how I can't be the only one thinking this. So I started looking into how I could bring my photography to other people. One thing led to another, and Hangar 53 Studios was born.

I want to combine good photos with good people.

That's what I'm about.
